Necropsies & Histopathology

For necropsies, live animals are preferred. RRDA offers Basic, General, and Comprehensive Protocols:

Basic Protocol (Necropsy Alone): While a Gross Necropsy alone is offered, it provides very little information, as no histopathology is performed even if lesions are observed. However, upon request, tissues can be collected and held for one month for possible histopathology.

General Protocol: Comprehensive Protocol: Major Organ Panel
In addition to the above protocols, the Major Organ Panel is available. This includes a necropsy and histopathology of the lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, and spleen.

The Complete Diagnostic Panel includes a necropsy and histopathology of the lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, spleen, brain, salivary gland, stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum and colon.

RESEARCH SERVICES :
Experimental Pathology Services and Immunohistochemistry services are available on request for submitted tissues and/or slides such as frozen or paraffin sections, for immunostaining, in situ hybridization, and detection of gene expression in cell lines and/or tissues.
