• Standard procedure­isolation and identification of isolates
• Blood culture­isolation and identification of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and susceptibility testing on all aerobic isolates of clinical importance
• Milk (mastitis)­isolation and identification of bacteria [includes antibiotic susceptibility test(s) on appropriate isolates]
• Culture for Mycobacterjum paratuberculosis (Johne's)
• Culture for Mycobacterium species other than M paratuberculosis
• FA on tissue for Leplospira using polyvalent antisera
• Microscopic examination of specimen (KOH, acid­fast, or Gram's stain)
• Salmonella culture from feces
• Salmonella culture from litter or bedding material
• General culture from samples of non­animal origin
• Darkfield examination of specimen
